Yamagata Prefecture is one of the places in Japan where an abundance of wild vegetables grow. The snow, clear water, and air on Mt. Gassan nurture delicious wild vegetables. Many people from both within and without the prefecture dine here to enjoy dishes crafted by careful preparation of wild vegetables that produces flavors free of unpleasant tastes. Take the time to enjoy the flavors of nature in Yamagata and satiate your appetite.
As the distribution of goods via the Mogami River developed, cultural articles were brought from Kyoto, and many still remain in Yamagata Prefecture. Those cultural treasures include hina dolls passed down in families throughout the prefecture. Tamaki has an array of valuable hina dolls, such as 'kokin-bina' (traditional dolls with new designs) and 'Kyoho-bina' (dolls from the Kyoho era (1735–1747)). Tamaki is the only restaurant in the prefecture where you can experience 'hinazen dishes' along with the elegant Heian period (794–1185).
Tamaki is proud to be located in a magnificent spot where on a hot summer's day you can restfully relax in a refreshingly cool environment and listen to the clear, babbling waters of the Sagae River fed by melted snow from Mt. Gassan. Enjoy seasonal cuisine while gazing out upon Yamagata's nature in summer and the slow-moving Sagae River from the dining room.
In addition to wild vegetables, mushrooms are another food from Yamagata that are not to be missed. Exceptional mushrooms from Yamagata that are ordinarily difficult to acquire are served in extraordinary, extravagant dishes that are rarely experienced in everyday meals. We serve dishes created with an abundance of these exceptional mushrooms.

Around the 100th day after birth when a baby's teeth start coming in, the Momoka Celebration is held in which the baby "eats" a meal with family to signify the child will never go hungry. We help you celebrate this traditional Japanese rite that has been carried out since the Heian period (794–1185).
